My style of leadership is similar with some differences. The styles are the same in that I listen to my employees as I listen to people at federation. Leaders Born or Made

After looking over and taking a few minutes to examin the quote by Kouzes and Posner, a few words shined brighter than others. For example, 'observable' and 'desire and persistence to lead.' I believe that all leaders are made, with the exception of few who are born outspoken and have the ambition to lead. As for the rest of them, they grow to be leaders by example. You watch a leader do their job, you have respect for the work they are doing, and you want to follow in their foot steps, that is the 'observable' portion of the quote. When you have a want to do something or to be someone special, you have the 'desire' to conquer that goal. If at first you don't succeed, you try and try again, you're persistant. For instance, if you try to complete a race but at first you don't do so well, you don't just give up, you want to continue to push yourself and get better, it's the same thing with leading an individual or group.
As being cheer captain, things are not always so easy, not everyone listens and not everyone is respectful. In the beginning you want to yell to try and get your voice heard, but obviously that is not the best solution. As the leader of the squad I have 'the opportunity for feedback and practice.' In other words, you can't always just do what you want, how you want, it's not a one man team, you have give the rest of them a voice, thus giving them a chance to give feedback.
Being a leader is all a work in progress. Although some might have the characteristics of one from the start, as you get older and you learn from others, you not only grow as an individual, but you also grow as an eminence.

Amnesty International

Last year, I placed myself in a quiet room for a bit of study time during my usual lunch period. As I was studying, a small group of then-seniors and Mr. Addington came in with a few boxes of pizzas, which immediately caught my eye. I asked for a slice as my stomach began to growl, and they told me only under one condition, I helped them write a few letters for a club. No big deal, right? Little did I know, this would little letter writing project would completely rearrange my view on the world, not everyone had the same idea of how a human being should live.
I talked to a senior when it was just about class time; I asked her how I could get involved, how I could continue this club after they had graduated. She lead the way and ever since then I have been pretty involved. I got quite a few of my friends to join the club and we've been working on projects and doing our best to change the world as we know it.
Amnesty International is a global movement with millions of supporters, members, and activists in over 100 countries and territories who strive to end abuses of human rights. Their vision is for 'every person to enjoy all the rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards.' They are not apart of any sort of government, political ideology, economic interests, or religion and are funded primarily by their membership and public donations.
With my passion and want to strive to make this world a better place, I took the initiative to keep the club going within Parish. I cannot express how exciting this is for me, to actually be doing something that I know will make a big impact on the world, not just nationally, but globally.
